As a locally owned, community bank, The First National Bank in Sioux Falls is always working to provide top-notch service and bring our customers the latest in banking and financial services.
As part of that commitment, we’ve launched a new online account opening platform. Now, you can open and fund a checking or savings account anytime, anywhere. It’s safe, efficient, and lets you handle your finances when and where it’s convenient for you.
Here’s what you can expect when you open a new account online.
1. Completing and submitting an application
This step includes providing your personal information, which will populate automatically when you upload a copy of your driver’s license. You can also enter your information manually. In addition, you’ll need to provide answers to four security questions and indicate your anticipated account activity. You can give your best guess for the anticipated number of withdrawals and deposits. The purpose of this section is to let us know how we can expect you to be using your account, so we can be on the lookout for anytime it’s used out of line with those expectations.
2. Funding your account
With an ACH deposit from another bank – You’ll provide the routing and account number for the bank account you’ll be using to fund your new FNB account. We will make two micro deposits and corresponding withdrawals from the bank account you provide. Then, you will receive an email to notify you of the deposits, prompting you to validate your account by verifying the two micro deposit amounts.
Fund at a later time – Open your account online, and mail or bring a check, money order, or cash to one of our 12 full-service locations. You may also do a wire transfer.
3. Reading the agreements and disclosures
You should click on and read each disclosure. We want to make sure you fully understand what you’re applying for, so each disclosure must be clicked and read in order for you to check the overarching box that you’ve read all agreements and disclosures.
If you know which account you want to open, apply now. Otherwise, visit our personal banking page to compare accounts and apply for the one that’s right for you. If you have any questions before, during, or after opening your account, contact our Customer Service team.
