Great news: you can now come into any of our branches and walk out with a debit card on the same day!
If you open a new account or experience fraud on your current account, our instant issue program allows you to get a same-day, temporary card to use for debit purchases until your permanent card arrives in the mail.
What is an instant issue card, and how does it work?
After you open a checking account, it can take 7-10 business days to receive your debit card in the mail. But we don’t want you to wait that long. Instead, we’ll provide you with a temporary card the day you open your account.
Was your current debit card lost, stolen, or shut off due to fraud? We’ve got your back there too.
Any new and existing customers with a personal, business, or ag banking account have access to instant issue cards. Although these cards are temporary, they’ll connect to your permanent card for fraud monitoring, mobile wallet, online activity, and similar purposes. That way, you won’t have to switch anything over when you activate your permanent card — our instant issue program does the work for you!
How long can I use the card?
An instant issue card is only a temporary solution until your permanent card arrives in the mail. It will stay active for about two days after you activate your shiny new debit card.
If you don’t activate your permanent card, the instant issue card will only stay active until the end of the month listed on its expiration date. At that point, the instant issue card will stop working, so be sure to activate your permanent card as soon as possible to avoid losing card access to your account.
Does an instant issue card have a PIN?
Your instant issue card will come with a PIN, which will be the last four digits of your account number. But for increased security, we encourage you to change your PIN once the card is active.
Does an instant issue card have a chip?
Instant issue cards do not have chips, so it’s back to swiping until you receive and activate your permanent card.
Things to keep in mind:
We can’t provide an instant issue card once a permanent card has been ordered because our system will be unable to connect the cards at that point. If you would like an instant issue card, we ask that you request one right away.
For the same reason, we can’t provide a replacement instant issue card if you lose your initial one; instead, you’ll have to wait until your permanent card arrives in the mail.
