Each week we’ll be showing you who we are through FNB Family Fridays! We’ve asked our friends and teammates questions that will give you a look into what they do at the Bank, their hobbies outside of work, and some of their favorite things. Be sure to check back here every Friday to read about another featured team member. We have some interesting people we work with every day!
Our featured employee this week is Annette Brandt, who is a credit analyst team lead and the focus of our newest commercial.
Annette grew up in Hills, MN, and attended the University of Sioux Falls, where she earned her degree in business administration and later, her MBA. She joined the Bank in 1999 as a part-time teller while attending college, and joined the Bank full-time as a teller and personal banker after graduation. She eventually became a credit analyst, and now leads the credit analyst team.
Q: What’s your favorite part of your job?
A: I enjoy seeing my team succeed. A number of analysts that I have worked closely with have moved into lending positions which was their goal. I like seeing the businesses we serve run successfully, due in part to the financial solutions we provide. It’s nice to know that what I do on a daily basis doesn’t just impact the bank, but also the hopes and dreams of business owners.
Q: Describe FNB in three words and explain why you chose those three.
A: Stewardship/Community Orientated – the bank and employees give of time and money to help various non-profits in the communities we serve.
Family – Not only do coworkers feel like family, but getting to know customers and interacting with them have resulted in friendships. We help support each other through good times and bad times.
Pillar – First National Bank has been providing banking services and giving back the fruits of its labor in the community for 135 years.
Q: What drew you to FNB originally? How has it changed since?
A: I applied at First National Bank when I was in college because I wanted a job in my field of study. My brother worked here and liked it, so I thought I would apply. The people I work with have become family to me. I love being able to utilize my knowledge and expertise to help others accomplish their goals.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?
A: Spending time with my husband and son, golfing (if I had more time, a little hard with a one-year-old), traveling, watching sports, and walking. I also volunteer with several organizations: Prairie Heart Guest House, Kiwanis Club of Sioux Falls, JDRF Walk, King of Glory Church, and the Siouxland Chapter of the Risk Management Association.
Q: If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be, and why?
Either one of my grandpas. They both passed away when I was young and it would be nice to hear more about their lives
