We’ve asked our friends and teammates questions that will give you a look into what they do at the Bank, their hobbies outside of work, and some of their favorite things. Our featured employee this week is Teresa Ulven, Manager of The Advantage Network.
Born and raised in Sioux Falls, Teresa started at FNB about six years ago. After graduating from the University of South Dakota with a degree in business administration in finance, she began her career working as the finance manager of a trucking firm that brokered water hauling in the oil fields during the North Dakota oil boom. She then joined the Bank as Advantage’s Network Finance Supervisor, and last November took over managing the department as the Advantage Network Manager.
Q: What’s your favorite part of your job?
A: My favorite part of my job is helping others. When I can help find a solution for a financial institution to make their job easier or provide insight to my team members to help them out with what they are working on, it brightens my day.
Q: Describe FNB in three words and explain why you chose those three.
A: Family – They care about their employees and customers like family.
Strong – FNB has been around for over 130 years and we are still going strong with all the competition in our area. We also have strong leadership.
Committed – FNB is committed to providing top-of-the-line customer service and committed to investing in their employees.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?
A: Chasing after my three kiddos, they keep me busy. When I have the energy, I enjoy running, golfing, and doing anything outdoors.
Q: What drew you to FNB originally? And how has it changed since?
A: FNB’s reputation. Since working here, I have truly seen how the Bank’s FIRST Values live and breathe throughout the Bank. The FIRST Values are why FNB is the best community bank in town; I love working here, and am proud to say where I work.
Q: What is your favorite line from a movie?
A: “Nobody puts Baby in a corner” – so old school, but it’s the first movie line that popped in my head.
