FNB Family Friday

Briana Oveson

Each week we’ll be showing you who we are through FNB Family Fridays! We’ve asked our friends and teammates questions that will give you a look into what they do at the Bank, their hobbies outside of work, and some of their favorite things. Be sure to check back here every Friday to read about another featured team member. We have some interesting people we work with every day!

This week we’re highlighting Briana Oveson, a personal banker at our Downtown Branch.

A native of Colman, SD, Briana has been with FNB since graduating from Augustana University in 2015. She started in our Customer Service department and then became a personal banker in 2017. Outside of work, she volunteers as co-chair for the Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure and also works in her church’s nursery. She’s also involved with our KindnessFirst committee, the Bank’s initiative to give back the communities we serve.

Q: What’s your favorite part of your job?

A: My favorite part of my job is being able to experience something a little bit different every day. No customer or interaction is exactly the same.

Q: Describe FNB in three words and explain why you chose those three.

A: Family, Generous, and Community. I feel like these three words really express the values that FNB holds. We want to treat our employees and customers like family. We want to be generous in our giving and give back to our communities.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?

A: I’m a sucker for watching The Bachelor and Bachelorette even though I have no good reason to keep watching. I also play in an indoor and outdoor volleyball league with some high school and college friends.

Q: What might someone be surprised to learn about you?

A: Growing up on the farm, my family had a total of nine dogs throughout my childhood. At one point we had five at once! Talk about a handful, but I loved every minute of it and would do it again if I could. I also don’t really like condiments. I’m convinced I’m one of the few people in the world who doesn’t like ketchup or ranch.

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received? Can you explain why that resonates with you?

A: Be good to people. It’s such a short piece of advice but I love it because you will be remembered more for your words and your actions than any level of success you could possibly attain.

If you’re ever downtown and want to open a checking or savings account (or talk about the latest Bachelor or Bachelorette drama), Briana would love to meet you!
